You seem to forget that America is exactly that: a nation kept afloat by the super rich and where everybody else is struggling. And you know why rich and large corporations thrive there? Because they are allowed not to pay taxes. I laugh out loud when I hear the overused refrain that America is entrepreneurship at its best: any country would be if they let Amazon not being a dime of Federal taxes. Where you lose me, however, is when you take this as a new thing, something that is scandalous. This is neither new nor scandalous, it is just what America is. To me it is despicable, to many other people it remains a dreamland.
