We can only get that far when we leave the initiative on sustainability (environmental, economic, and social) to large corporations. We really can’t expect anything else and this is why real change will only come if we include — in an uncompromising way — sustainability in our demand function. Only if we stop just smirking to the umpteenth contradiction between a company communication and its action on sustainability and we take a real action choosing products that are more aligned with our moral ideals. So change must come from demand, we should learn to be uncompromising. If we continue to praise in educated living rooms’ conversation Apple’s screen time campaign (not to speak about the even more hypocritical campaign on ‘privacy’) while subscribing to all these new services Apple is offering we deserve the impending societal doom that big corporations are administering to us — poison-like — drop after drop.
