OK I think this is the key we need. Our society is in disarray because when we have to take a decision or when we need to form an opinion we internalise too much the piece of information we are presented with. And this is damning for societies. Maybe, as Adam Smith famously stated, for the economy the best mechanism for allocating resources was one that enable people to pursue their own self-interest. But what about for the society? We have to learn (again) how to take decisions or form opinions by integrating in the set of informations what our opinion or decision mean for other people, intertemporally. Consider every our action in terms of its origin and its consequences in the society we are all part.
